Loïc Cardinal: Arturia Polybrut & Moog sub 37
Gilles Schürch: Drumset & Electronic
Théophile Blanchon: Trumpet & Eurorack
Musicians Loic Cardinal (VS) – synths, Théophile Blanchon (VD) – trumpet/modular/FX, and Gilles Schürch (BS) – drums/FX join forces with the Zurich-based trio Pink Noise to combine acoustic instruments with electronics, creating their own atmospheric soundscape carried by rousing grooves and lyrical melodies. Their approach combines composition and improvisation, inspired by jazz and electronic music à la Erik Truffaz and Nils Petter Molvær.
Silent Circuit – First Album
Pink Noise’s debut duo album is a modern form of improvisation, born from the creative synergy between Théophile Blanchon and Gilles Schürch. This dynamic duo merges Théophile’s lyrical trumpet with the expansive soundscapes of Eurorack synthesis, while Gilles brings his rhythmic versatility and innovative use of effects on acoustic drums. Together, they craft improvised compositions that blur genre boundaries—seemingly structured and thoughtful, yet created entirely in the moment. The album takes the listener on a sonic journey where each improvisation tells its own story, filled with conceptual ideas, emotions, unpredictability, and musical dialogue
