Pink Noise becomes a trio

We are really happy to announce that keyboards and synth player Loic Cardinal is joining Pink Noise !

Loïc Cardinal is a pianist and composer originally from the Valais. He studied in Lausanne with Yannick Delez, then at the Jazzcampus Basel with Malcolm Braff and Hans Feigenwinter, and finally with David Virelles and Chris Wiesendanger for a Master’s in Music Pedagogy at the Zurich University of the Arts — while also attending masterclasses by international figures such as Brad Mehldau, Larry Grenadier, and Mark Turner.

His career has led him to lead his own project, Cardilepsie, at festivals such as Cully Jazz and JazzOnze+, as well as collaborate in the fields of soul and electronic music, playing synthesizers for artists such as Coco Elan, Mia Oud, Maryy (sub), and Helen Ribi. Since 2017, he has also co-organized the Jazz under the Stars festival in Saint-Luc. Currently, Loïc is active as a supporting musician in various projects, performing with Mia Oud and ELLESTE100, while developing his main project, Best of Both Worlds, which merges jazz aesthetics with synthesizers, inspired by Aaron Parks and Bill Laurance.

Silent Circuit – 22th August 2025 [album #1]

Impressionistic soundscapes invite the listener on a journey between the analog and digital worlds—an interplay of acoustic and electronic sounds, layered and mixed as fragments of composition, leaving ample space for improvisation. On one side, the trumpet, with its warm and delicate melodies; on the other, the drums, offering an array of grooves that are both driving and expressive, sometimes noisy and percussive, yet also subtle. This duality is wrapped in the textures of analog synthesizers and audio effects.

Granular Life – 28th July 2025 [singles #2]

You feel reminisences from the past, yet you endure the weight and heat of the present and can’t see a future, as you lose control of yourself and your life. Waking up and beginning to understand the consequences of what has been done brings back a strange feeling of nostalgia.

States of Things – 4th July 2025 [singles #3]

Impressionistic soundscapes invite the listener on a journey between the analog and digital worlds—an interplay of acoustic and electronic sounds, layered and mixed as fragments of composition, leaving ample space for improvisation.
